Finland generates an annual total of more than a million tonnes of mixed waste burnt at waste incineration plants. Together with the waste management company Lounais-Suomen Jätehuolto owned by 17 municipalities in Southwestern Finland and the waste-to-energy company Lounavoima, Gasum is looking for a solution on how biowaste included in incinerable waste sent to an upcoming waste-to-energy plant could be utilized in biogas production.
