Saab And Cohere Partner On Advanced AI For Aerospace Applications
The collaboration focuses on integrating artificial intelligence into mission support and maintenance systems, with GlobalEye at its core.
Saab has signed a memorandum of understanding with Canadian AI company Cohere to collaborate on advanced artificial intelligence technologies, with a focus on strengthening its GlobalEye airborne surveillance platform.
The agreement establishes a framework for joint development of AI-based solutions that support mission operations, maintenance and data processing in complex and secure aerospace environments. The collaboration is linked to Saab’s GlobalEye offering in Canada but is also expected to benefit existing and future international operators.
According to Saab, the partnership aims to enhance its global product portfolio and improve competitiveness by leveraging emerging AI capabilities.
The companies will explore applications such as data-driven mission support, advanced maintenance tools and on-premises information processing tailored for high-security aerospace systems.
“Canada offers outstanding industrial and advanced technology partners. Working with Canadian companies like Cohere on emerging technologies strengthens our global supply chain and enhances Saab’s international competitiveness,” says Saab’s President and CEO Micael Johansson.
Cohere highlights the importance of scalable and reliable AI in industrial use.
“Frontier artificial intelligence should be built for scale, trust, reliability and most importantly, real-world impact,” says Ivan Zhang, co-founder of Cohere.
