Epiroc Expands Its Presence in India
Epiroc is building a new production and research and development facility in Nashik.
The new facility will develop, innovate and produce underground and aboveground equipment for customers in the mining and construction industries. The facility will include production and prototype buildings, an R&D laboratory, offices and an outdoor equipment test track. It is expected to start operations in the third quarter of 2026 and develop in phases over the coming years. The total surface area of the facility will be approximately 175 000 m2.
"The new facility in Nashik is an important step in expanding our presence in the still growing and very important Indian market, and will also support our customers worldwide," says Helena Hedblom, CEO of Epiroc.
Epiroc has manufacturing and innovation facilities in several locations in India, including Nashik, and employs around 1,750 people in the country, including a large and growing R&D organisation.
In April this year, Epiroc opened an expanded rock drilling tool manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, and last year it opened a new innovation and technology centre in the same city.
The new facility in Nashik will create local employment opportunities, adding around 200 new direct jobs to Epiroc's current workforce of around 280 in Nashik.
"We are excited about this additional expansion in India, where we see significant growth potential," said Arunkumar Govindarajan, President of Epiroc India.
"We look forward to continuing to be a productivity and sustainability partner for our local and global customers through this investment. The new facility will also support our 'Make in India' initiatives."
