Mobius Institute Introduces the CBM Conference for Industrial Condition Monitoring Professionals, Reliability Engineers and Plant Management

Mobius Institute’s IMVAC conferences have evolved and are now rebranded the “CBM Conference” to better identify with its strong focus of condition monitoring technologies and plant performance and reliability improvement.

CBM

IMVAC conferences were launched in 2016 as primarily a vibration analysis technology conference; however, they quickly evolved to having a wider focus including all primary condition monitoring technologies. The first CBM Conference will be held in Orlando, Florida, USA on November 12, 2018.

The CBM Conference presents workshops, presentations, case studies and an exhibition that includes expert presenters and industry providers representing the areas of condition monitoring management, vibration analysis, infrared thermography, oil analysis, wear particle analysis, ultrasound, motor testing, precision lubrication, precision alignment and field balancing. Additionally, the CBM Conference includes tracks covering plant reliability and performance improvement topics. During 2019, Mobius Institute will host CBM Conference events in Australia, Belgium, Mexico, United States, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.

How ultrasonic sensors and artificial intelligence improve condition monitoring

In an industrial setting, assets are everything. A breakdown can cause hours  of downtime, and thus hours of lost productivity and lower financial gains. Preventative maintenance is one way facility managers counteract system entropy, but it is not perfect strategy. In some cases, a preventive approach to maintenance can actually lower the overall effectiveness of an asset. In the case of a valve for example, constant tightening can cause premature wear and tear.
