FairWind Expands its Presence in the APAC region - Buys Cosmic Group
FairWind is expanding in the Asia-Pacific region with the acquisition of Australia’s Cosmic Group, strengthening its position in wind power installation and maintenance.
Renewable energy specialist FairWind (Force BidCo A/S) plans to strengthen its presence in the Asia-Pacific region and accelerate its global growth by agreeing to acquire Cosmic Group, a leading Australian provider of wind power installation and maintenance services.
This strategic acquisition will strengthen the company's existing presence in Australia and expand its footprint to New Zealand and Japan.
The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter, subject to regulatory approvals. The Brisbane-based company and its team of 100 technicians will become part of FairWind.
Together with Cosmic, FairWind will be able to leverage local expertise and align the team with its global systems, standards, and strategic direction.
New regional hub
The company will become the regional hub for FairWind's APAC operations, and one of its founders, Matt Crossan, will be appointed Regional Director. Cosmic will continue to operate under the Cosmic name, ensuring continuity for existing projects and customers.
Stewart Mitchell, CEO of FairWind, said: "Working with Cosmic is a significant step in our growth strategy. By joining forces with a team known for meeting the highest standards, we are expanding our geographic reach while strengthening our ability to support our customers wherever they operate."
Matt Crossan commented:"With the number of installed wind turbines continuing to grow and our customers bringing new generation wind turbines to the region, there is significant growth potential in the Asia-Pacific region. We are proud of what we have built at Cosmic to become one of the leading providers of wind energy services. By joining FairWind, we have a partner that will enhance our existing capabilities, and we are excited about the next phase of our business."
FairWind has more than 2,000 employees in over 40 countries across Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and Oceania. The company provides lifecycle solutions for the installation and maintenance of onshore and offshore wind farms worldwide.
