Verona is Calling

The main event of EFNMS this year, EUROMAINTENANCE 2010 will be held in Verona, Italy. It has been the leading bi-annual European conference on maintenance since 1972. We are expecting more than 500 people from across and outside Europe to attend the event from 12th to 14th May 2010.

The event is a unique opportunity to meet leading experts and find answers to challenges in these difficult economic times. The leading theme of the congress is "Maintenance and Asset Management – Your Key Recovery Drivers". Strong emphasis is also placed on safety, reliability, sustainability and global collaboration.

Economic globalisation forces global collaboration on many levels. At the congress you can experience the start of the new truly global collaboration platform the Global Forum on Maintenance and Asset Management (GFMAM). It is a worldwide community of organizations providing leadership for maintenance & asset management communities.

There is also the possibility to be a part of the launch of a new European-wide campaign on Safe Maintenance. Good occupational safety and health management is good for business, and it is a feature of an efficient organisation. Another opportunity is to participate in the workshops organised by the EFNMS committees or to get certified as a European Expert in Maintenance Management. The workshops are discussed in more detail in this issue of MaintWorld.

In addition to the large number of sessions and workshops, ample time will be reserved for networking. EUROMAINTENANCE is not only an information-gathering event, but is also an opportunity to get to know other people. A good example of such a networking opportunity would be while enjoying the concert and the Gala Dinner at the Grand Guardia Palace, held on the opening day with the presentation of the Euromaintenance Incentive Award. The presentation of awards has always played a major role in recognizing outstanding individuals.

To attract young engineers to the field of Maintenance EFNMS will present the Master Thesis award during the closing event of the congress. The successful attendees of the certification exam will also receive their diploma as well as the awards for the Best Papers will be presented at the same event.

See You in Verona!
